ProtechGeo & Material Testing Ltd. is a geotechnical consulting company based in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Established in 2018, our team has decades of combined experience and expertise serving clients in Alberta and Western Canada.

ProtechGeo has an experienced team of geotechnical engineers that offer a comprehensive range of engineering, project, management, investigation, and material testing services. Our expertly-trained staff have the professional education and relevant experience to provide your project with effective insights and resources.

Gurpreet Gill, M.Eng., P.Eng.

Managing Partner

Gurpreet Gill possesses extensive knowledge in geotechnical site investigation supervision, preparation of proposals, geotechnical investigations, and slope inclinometer reports. He has been active in the geotechnical field in B.C., Alberta, Saskatchewan, Nunavut, and the Northwest Territories since 2001, and he boasts both local and permafrost experience working with several well-known firms.

Sajid Mahmood, M.Eng., P.Eng.

Senior Geotechnical Engineer

Sajid Mahmood is a professional engineer registered with APEGA with nearly 15 years of experience within Alberta. Since 1998, he has been actively involved in geotechnical investigation proposals, site investigations, materials testing, and site inspection reports. Sajid has supervised various investigation and testing projects for clients in institutional, commercial, industrial, residential development industries, with experience in projects such as communication and transmission line towers, substations, and road construction.

Jaswinder Kaler, M.Tech., P.Eng.

Geotechnical Engineer Associate

Jaswinder Kaler boasts almost 20 years of experience in geotechnical engineering and structural engineering. Past roles have included project management, geotechnical site investigations, structural design, bridge construction, field and laboratory materials testing, and various QA/QC roles on projects. He has extensive experience in geotechnical report writing, pile inspections, material engineering, proposal preparations, and structural design and recommendations.

Aaron J. Smith

Manager, Materials and Laboratories

Aaron Smith is a Certified Engineering Technologist, registered to ASET with more than 12 years of QA/QC experience in the materials testing industry, working with municipal, residential, commercial and industrial sites across Canada. He has extensive experience in soils, aggregates, asphalt and concrete, and is a strong Project Manager, passionate about reporting, scheduling and budgeting for his clients.

Daniella Calero

Accountant

Daniella joined the ProtechGeo team in 2021. Daniella started her accounting career in Grande Prairie, moving to Edmonton and working in the oil & gas industry for 7 years where she built her knowledge and skills working alongside the controller. Her responsibilities involve leading the company in financial reporting, Accounts Payable, & Accounts Receivable. Her commitment to ensuring the accuracy of the financials make the company’s operations run smoothly and efficiently as the company continues to grow.

Line Bujold

Senior Geotechnical Technologist

Line has more than 35 years experience in the civil and geotechnical testing industry having worked various roles in municipal districts & counties, residential buildings, refineries, pipelines, gas distribution compounds, commercial and industrial sites across Canada. She has extensive experience in drilling programs, soil classification and pile installation monitoring.

Duc Co

Senior Materials Technologist

Duc has held various positions in the past 24 years: Quality
Control technician, field materials testing, geotechnical inspection and environmental engineering, lab supervisory roles, field Project Coordinating and Estimating roles. These experiences included various government agencies (Alberta
Transportation, Alberta Infrastructure, etc.), Municipal Districts & counties, industrial sites, rail, fabrication yards, commercial and residential buildings, and various other project types in environmental, geotechnical and materials engineering roles, QA and QC roles. He has extensive experience in soils, aggregates, asphalt, and concrete

Rippen Sidhu Gill

Business Development

In her role, Rippen is responsible for managing the operations including business development, communication, marketing, project delivery, and staff development.
With over 18 years of experience in the engineering industry and project management, she believes in providing exceptional, responsive client service through communication on project schedules and budgets.
She holds bachelor’s degree of Dental Surgery.
